Synopsis: In 1766, Grégoire de Fronsac, commissioned by Louis XV, is sent to the Gévaudan region to hunt down and kill a mysterious beast that has been terrorizing the area for two years, sparing neither women nor children. Accompanied by Mani, his blood brother, a Mohawk Indian from New France, Fronsac quickly faces the hostility of the region's nobles.
