It was in the spring of 2021 that Emily Atef launched the end of her latest film, part of which was shot in Bordeaux.
The film tells the story of Hélène, a 33-year-old Bordelaise, who lives happily as a couple. Her life changes when she learns that she has a rare lung disease. Thanks to a blog, she discovers Norway, and decides to follow her instinct. She will cross all of Europe until there, in search of a new path.
This is the director's eighth film and this time, the production has decided to make it in a totally eco-responsible way, thus making the feature film the first 100% eco-produced and shot in New Aquitaine.
Many measures have been taken, going beyond simple obvious and essential ecological gestures. For example:
- The decorations were chosen in such a way as to respect the proximity of public transport in Bordeaux. Thus, the majority of the scenes were shot in the heart of the city so that the team could move around on foot or by bicycle.
- With regard to supplies, labeled products for make-up, hairdressing and decoration have been purchased. The costumes come mainly from thrift stores.
- The goal being also to recycle, a partnership between the University of Bordeaux and the town hall of Talence has been set up to collect all the single-use masks used with the aim of recycling them by transforming them into school material which will be distributed. free thereafter.
- And because eco-producing also means giving pride of place to people, all the secondary roles appearing in the Bordeaux part of the film are actors from the region. The hiring of local technicians has largely limited travel and accommodation.
- To show her ecological approach to the public, the director has chosen to have the main character travel to Norway by train!
“More than ever” we say yes to these committed shoots!
