From October 8, 2025, France 2 will offer its new mini-series in four 52-minute episodes, The Scent of HappinessProduced by Ripley Films (Paul Schmitt) and Merlin Productions (Mediawan group), the fiction will be broadcast in the Wednesday evening slot and available for preview from September 20 on france.tv.
Adapted from the bestseller The Scent of Happiness is Stronger in the Rain by Virginie Grimaldi, this series benefited from the support of Gironde Tournages and the support of the Gironde Department.
A sensitive and modern adaptation
Created and written by Samantha Mazeras, the series follows Pauline (played by Caroline Anglade), who refuses to move on after ten years of marriage to Ben (Xavier Robic).
To convey this intimate and universal story, the screenwriter chose to "adopt the codes of the investigation" in order to lead the viewer down different paths and give the story a particular dramatic tension. Each episode revolves around a stage of grief over love: denial, anger, negotiation, and acceptance.
