Synopsis: The body of a real estate developer and mayoral candidate in Bordeaux is found murdered in his home, following a ritual reserved two centuries earlier for runaway slaves. Discovered by his closest friends, all of whom, like the victim, come from prominent Bordeaux families with a troubled past during the slave trade, Clémence Lacoste, a seasoned police captain and native of Bordeaux, is forced to team up with Lieutenant Antoine Rosy, a very elegant Parisian more accustomed to the office than to fieldwork. To find the killer and stop this series of murders, our two heroes will uncover buried elements of Bordeaux's history... but above all, their own past and origins.
