Synopsis: Thirteen-year-old Ava is on vacation at the ocean when she learns she will lose her sight sooner than expected. Her mother decides to pretend everything is fine so they can have the best summer of their lives. Ava confronts the problem in her own way: she steals a large black dog belonging to a young man on the run.
