Synopsis: In Villefranche, a town of 30000 inhabitants, 34-year-old Jérôme Cachart is accused of murdering his best friend, Driss Basri. Jérôme refuses to answer questions and retreats into silence. After his factory closed, Jérôme found himself unemployed. He lost hope, his relationship fell apart, and he was gradually drawn to far-right politics, eventually becoming a city councilor for that party. Was this the cause of Driss Basri's death? Was it a racist crime? An act triggered by a political disagreement? Or by heartbreak?
