FILMING AT THE ROYAL CASTLE OF CAZENEUVE

Despite a story anchored in the bay of Saint Jena de Luz, a large part of the filming took place at the Cazeneuve castle in Préchac for 3 months in the winter of 2022. The film crew invested around ten rooms in the castle but also the exterior parts (cour d'honneur, walkway, bamboo grove, etc.).

This series, which pays tribute to all these independent women, resonates particularly with the history of the Château, which has welcomed within its walls great women whose modernity at the time marked the spirits.
The best known is undoubtedly Marguerite de Valois, known as Queen Margot, wife of the King of France Henri IV. Placed under house arrest in Cazeneuve pending the annulment of her marriage, she went to the banks of the Ciron river in order to honor amorous appointments there; from this place is called the Grotto of Queen Margot.
Charlotte Rose de Caumont de la Force born in Cazeneuve in 1650 became a great novelist at the court of Louis XIV writing historical novels or fairy tales. She notably wrote the tale Persinette from which Disney's Rapunzel is inspired.
Or the Countess Emmanuelle de Sabran-Pontevès, whose botany no longer held any secrets and who redesigned the entire park of Cazeneuve in the English style and had the large bamboo grove and palm trees planted.
