Cultural heritage
Bordeaux: elegance, blond stone and heritage decor
Bordeaux is a city of facades, classical perspectives, and perfectly preserved monuments. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers a cohesive, luminous, and instantly recognizable urban setting, where history remains visible in the stone.
The streets of the old town center, the private mansions, the monumental squares, and the cobbled courtyards are all settings open to both fiction and documentary. Bordeaux classicism is sober, elegant, and legible. It can become a period setting, a bourgeois setting, an administrative setting... or be diverted with modernity.
OUR FAVORITES
The Grand Theatre
Monumental colonnades, neoclassical facade, grand staircase, golden lounges : the Grand-Théâtre de Bordeaux is a spectacular setting, both outside and inside. It imposes a rare verticality and the solemnity of a large state room.
Private mansions
Around the golden triangle, in the Saint-Seurin or Palais Gallien districts, many private mansions offer honors courses, stone stairwells, rows of lounges, glass roofs, woodwork… Some are still inhabited, others are partially open. These are perfect places for refined interior scenes, but also for recreating atmospheres from another century.
Old Bordeaux
The narrow streets around the Grosse Cloche, the porches, the staircases, the hidden courtyards and the paved squares allow for filming in more popular, denser, almost medieval atmospheres. The contrast with the main classic arteries gives a diversity of tones within the same urban perimeter.
Bordeaux apartments
Beyond the great monuments, Bordeaux conceals a more intimate treasure: its stone apartments, typical of 18th-century architecture. Impressive ceiling heights, old parquet floors, moldings, marble fireplaces, double doors, arched windows... These interiors offer a hushed, bourgeois atmosphere, elegant. They are found in particular in the Chartrons and Saint-Seurin districts or around the golden triangle.
